May 12: Notice of Public Hearing to Amend the Land Use Bylaw with minor amendments

Council Decision: Council approved Bylaw 2106-26 as amended, which amends the Land Use Bylaw to allow buildings to be relocated from one site to another site within the City, updates appeal timelines to align with the Municipal Government Act, and consolidates development security provisions from Safety Codes Policy CO-026.



Notice of Public Hearing to Make Minor Amendments to the Land Use Bylaw

Date: May 12, 2026
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Wetaskiwin City Hall (Council Chambers) or via electronic video conference

You are invited to provide input on Bylaw 2106-26. This bylaw would make administrative and other minor amendments to Land Use Bylaw 1804-13 in three areas:

  • Updating the development appeal period to match the Municipal Government Act;
  • Allowing moved-on buildings and establishing regulations governing their approval; and
  • Updating regulations regarding development securities.

Bylaw 2106-26 received first reading at the April 14, 2026, Regular Council meeting. It is available for review in the agenda package for that meeting at RFD-Bylaw 2106-26 Amending Land Use Bylaw 1804-03 with Minor Amendments.

  • Register to speak to Council at the public hearing.
  • Submit written comments to be presented to Council on your behalf at the public hearing.
  • Review a paper copy of the proposed amendments.
  • Ask questions regarding the proposed amendments.
