May 12: Public Hearing for Bylaws to Amend the Business Licence Bylaw and Fees and Charges Bylaw

Bylaws 2090-25 and 2091-25

LOCATION: Wetaskiwin City Hall, or via electronic video conference (link to be posted at Wetaskiwin.ca)

You are invited to provide input on two related bylaws:

  • Bylaw 2090-25, a proposed bylaw to amend the Business Licence Bylaw to create an Event Vendors’ Licence category and identify when it applies.
  • Bylaw 2091-25, a proposed bylaw to amend the Fees and Charges Bylaw to list a fee for an Event Vendors’ Licence.

These amendments support updates to the City’s Special Events Policy to streamline the application process for events on City property. No changes are proposed to existing business and vendor licence categories.

Both bylaws received first reading at the April 28, 2025, regular Council meeting. They are available for review in the agenda document for that meeting at Wetaskiwin.ca.

If you wish to address Council on this matter, you must register to speak by contacting Planning and Development at the phone number or email address below, no later than 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

If you are unable to attend the public hearing, you may submit written comments to be presented to Council at the public hearing. Written submissions must be received by 4 p.m. on May 8, 2025, and may be delivered to Wetaskiwin City Hall, emailed to emily.sangster@wetaskiwin.ca, or mailed to:
